FM RECEPTION TIPS

FM radio works on the principle of "line-of-sight." This means your radio's antenna must be carefully oriented for the clearest signal.  Indoor antennas can be unpredictable, so it might take some experimentation to get a clean signal. Moving the antenna to a different part of the room away from Computers, cell phones, cable boxes, satellite boxes, video game systems, microwave ovens and light dimmer switches will often improve reception.

The key to good FM reception is the antenna. In many cases, a good antenna is more important than a top of the line receiver. If your home has a metal roof, or your in a low area, or you have computers that need to be on, then an outdoor antenna will be the most effective at cleaning up poor signal quality.  A great value in an FM antenna is the

Antennacraft FM6 .  It has an excellent reputation and can easily be mounted on a pole outside your home.  With this antenna you will pull in signals that did not exist on your indoor antenna.  A listener in Gainesville just purchased this antenna and receives WFJV 55 miles away!!
